Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Waterline handles and why. Waterline is operated by the operator of Waterline. We keep it simple: there are no accounts, no cookies, no ads and no analytics trackers.

What we handle

• Your wallet address, when you connect a wallet and ask for a swap quote. It's sent to our server and passed to our swap routing provider to build the quote and transaction. Wallet addresses and transactions are public on the blockchain.
• Your wallet address, when you open Portfolio or turn on "My trades". It's sent to our server so we can read your balances, and your past buys and sells of the token you're viewing, from the public blockchain. We keep the result in memory for under a minute and don't store it.
• Searches and pools you track. Search terms are sent to our market data provider to find pools. Pools you add are stored so everyone can see their charts. They aren't linked to you.
• Technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We use IP addresses briefly, in memory, to limit abusive traffic. Our host may keep request logs for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
• Alert subscriptions, if you turn on watchlist alerts. Your browser gives us a notification address and encryption keys, and we store them with the list of pools you've starred and your alert settings, so we can send you alerts. They aren't linked to your wallet or identity. Turning alerts off deletes them.
• Telegram bot, if you use it. We store the chat ID and the pools that chat is watching, plus its alert settings, so we can send alerts. We don't store message contents. Use /unwatch all to stop alerts; if you block or remove the bot, we delete the chat's settings.
• Public blockchain data. The liquidity feed shows wallet addresses that added or removed liquidity, taken from the public blockchain.

What stays on your device

Your watchlist, last viewed pool and settings, and whether you've acknowledged the risk notice, are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and you can clear them any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Who else is involved

• A hosting provider, which runs the site and its database.
• A swap routing provider, which builds swap quotes and transactions.
• A cross-chain bridge provider, which receives the wallet addresses, chains, tokens and amounts of bridge quotes you request, and fills your orders.
• Node providers for other chains (such as Solana), which we use to read balances and prepare transactions when you bridge.
• A market data provider, which supplies pool data and search.
• Blockchain node providers, which we use to read Robinhood Chain and other chains' data.
• If you sign in with email or a social account, our sign-in provider (Privy), which handles your login and creates and secures your embedded wallet. We receive your email or social handle and wallet addresses from it; we never see your wallet's private key.
• Your wallet provider, which you choose and which has its own privacy policy.
• Telegram, if you use the Waterline bot.
• Your browser's push notification service (for example Apple, Google or Mozilla), which delivers alerts to your device. Alert contents are encrypted end to end.

We don't sell personal information and we don't use it for advertising.

How long we keep things

Market data is kept for up to 35 days. Alert subscriptions are kept until you turn alerts off, or until your browser tells us the subscription has expired. We don't keep a record of which wallet requested which quote.

Your choices and rights

You can use the site without connecting a wallet. Depending on where you live, data protection laws may give you rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we hold very little, most requests can be answered quickly. Contact us through the official Waterline channels linked on the site.

Security

Connections to the site are encrypted, and we never ask for or receive your private keys or recovery phrase. Nobody from Waterline will ever ask for them.

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top.
